Listening to WPR* the night before last I caught a program called To The Best of Our Knowledge, which was asking the question, “Can Science Be Sacred?” —the final segment of a five-part series entitled Science & the Search for Meaning.

To The Best Of Our Knowledge

Can Science Be Sacred?

I was impressed with the serious tone with which the topic was addressed, especially since the interviewed ‘guests’ all possess academic backgrounds and yet were comfortable sharing some of their more subjective, esoteric life experiences. Their varied accounts reveal how such mystical moments have inspired them to endure in their efforts to bridge the seeming gap between cold, empirical precepts and our sense that something incredibly profound is afoot in the natural order—a sense that carries one beyond the confining realms of our rational mind…into the wondrous frontiers of our imagination.

This is an hour long program anyone can download and listen to for free from the program’s website,
